Here's the News!

Ok, here you go! Here's the big news! Firstly, I am NOT preggo, thankyouverymuch, even though a student touched my full tummy today and asked if I was!

So the big news is that we were interviewed and profiled today by Oklavision for their series on handmade in Oklahoma for Christmas!!! This will air on the Cox channel in two weeks and then will be a permanent fixture on their website after that! I am SO grateful to Katie there for 1) being so awesome and 2) being so much fun to work with!!! I will, of course, post the video link once it is posted and will let the world know when our broadcast will air! Hopefully I didn't have a huge boog hanging out of my nose or something like that ;)

HA HA!!! Spool Rhymes with Stool!

Have I ever told you that I have the maturity level of a 13 year old boy? True story :)

So there's lots of cleaning out closets going on at my grandpa's house right now and one of the random finds was a box FULL of old wooden spools! My grandma wasn't even a sewer so we have no clue what they were doing there! Being the crafter that I am, I scarfed them right up and got to work on an impromptu and fun project - ornaments!!!

All Thursday night I played with ribbon, jingle bells and old buttons :)

Friday night I made this last minute display for them out of a log, another wildly funny word :)

I think they are SO cute and I plan on keeping lots for myself! They were a hit at our show on Saturday, which wasn't our greatest show BUT we met two SUPER cool crafters also in 'the scene'. You can find these two lovely ladies here and here. I look forward to seeing them at Deluxe next month!!

This was a mighty slow show but we managed to entertain ourselves as always :) Here's April modeling the two beautiful flower pins/hair clips we got from the aforementioned crafters.

And my cheesetastic mug. Notice that the woman next to us was using a drying rack to display her jewelry! I guess we had a good idea a while back :)

One other random thing about this show is that it was held where I went to 7th and 8th grade, EIGHTEEN YEARS AGO!!!!!!!! It was SO strange how weird memories came back when I walked the halls there!
So at the end of this week, I'll have some UBER cool news to share...just know that my smile has never been bigger! Also mega cool is that my sista is going to be here on Saturday!!! This is an exciting week!
Talk to you soon!

Long time no post! Afraid I don't have any pictures to share in this quick note BUT I did want to let you know that if you don't have plans tomorrow, you should come see us at the Union 8th Grade Center! This building is located at 65th & Garnett and the show goes from 9-5! I'll be unveiling my new Christmas ornaments made of vintage wooden spools and buttons and LOTS of new jewelry!

I'll be back soon with pictures. I promise! :)

Tea Anyone?

I bet you thought I forgot about you! Well, worry not, here I am! Life is pretty hectic but is great all around :) I've been working on LOTS of new pieces which I will share shortly. For now, I share a couple Halloween pics!

I really didn't have a good costume planned this year at all other than being a traditional white sheet ghost. About 4:30 on Friday afternoon, about 4 hours before our friend's annual Halloween party, I received a cute email with pictures of kids in fun costumes. One costume was a teabag made out of a pillowcase which I found hilarious! I figured I could make something like that out of that white sheet so I started cutting and hand sewing! I'm certainly not a clothes maker as you can tell by how large I made the neck hole but it was a lot of fun making my own costume! I filled the 'bag' with leaves from outside so the bottom was weighted with 'tea leaves' then I took the lid from our box of tea to make the hangy thing (that's a technical term). Finally, I made two earrings out of actual teabags for kicks :)

It was SUCH a fun costume! As the night wore on, the costume got more and more fun ;) Feast your eyes on this!

The mister was The Seventies. Yes, the entire decade :) And the beast was a cowboy! I'll have to put those pics up later.
So there you go, proof that I am alive and crazy as ever!
